Welcome to the PlayATS home page, the best "Against The Spread" football pick game on the 'net!  The ATS pool is one of the most exciting football pools, it's been in action for more than 20 years, providing fame, fortune and some amazing prizes to our ever growing legion of ATS members!!  Ok, the big cash payouts are the major draw, but you get the idea.

The rules of ATS are simple. There are 17 18 weeks in the NFL season. You try to pick the winners of the pro football games each week, as well as the best college games on the board (against the spread, of course!). Veteran ATS members know the rules of the game, however, to those of you not familiar with the ATS rules, take a peek at the rules summary page. 

We're working on some big updates for the ATS web site, with new features and functionality.  Yes, we know we've been saying that for 10 15 16 17 18 25+ years, it's just that we work at a government pace. This will be the last year for this ancient site, the ducktape and chicken wire just aren't holding anymore.  By next year we should be on a more modern platform.

Here we go again, another year of PlayATS! . What will the 2023 season bring us in football?   Maybe the NFL will just join with the NCAA in the re-alignment craze.   All this moving around city to city for the teams is just shortsighted. The Dallas Cowboys could become the Mexico City Narcos.  Think of the netflix sponsorship opportunities!   It's definitely become hard to keep up with the college game, and conferences are changing on a daily basis.  Who knows what conferences will even be around next year, so enjoy them while you can.  It sure looks like the inevitable conclusion is that it's basically going to be the B1G vs SEC in the future, where each conference has like 25 teams.   Maybe they can just rename them to the AFC and NFC and have a super great game to crown a champion.....errr.... nevermind that.  For the first time in years, it doesn't look like there's any team in CFB that has no huge holes.   Who's gonna be the 'Tide QB?  Buckeyes QB?  How good is the UGA QB?  Will the Buckeyes finally put the weasels up North back in their rightful place?  Will Quinn Ewers finally make all the "Texas is Back!" exclamations accurate? 

Good to know that some things will remain constant though.  Like the sun rising in the West, death and taxes, nothing seems like more of a sure thing than saying the Browns are still going to find a way to mess everything up and have a lousy season.   Are the Bengals going to pull it all together and finally bring the trophy home?  Are the Chefs going to win another one and really become a dynasty?  Regardless, PlayATS is up and running again. 

Some of you may know, there are currently 2 'bot' accounts that make ATS picks each week.  One (dogman) just picks all the underdogs each week.  The next one (random) picks each game and selects best bets randomly.  New for season '23, I've decided to join the AI craze -- there's going to be a new bot that's going to be the picks as selected by a large AI system, the playats AI bot.   We'll see how we all fare against the AI bot!
